Ascot Book Club: Los Angeles, CA, United States; On an overcast day in May, Jeff Kaplan and Nathan Van Dyke sat in a quaint drinking establishment discussing current events and celebrity intrigue when in a drunken moment they had an epiphany. Instead of racking their alcohol addled brains for new topics of conversation, why not let the great writers of the world do it for them! After a hearty hand shake and a few stiff Manhattans the plan was set and thus was born the Ascot Book Club. After an intellectually rigorous and emotionally wrought vetting process the members were at last chosen and the invitations sent. So stuff your pipe with your best tobacco and get that ascot tied. It's time to read, bitch!
